“It’s a luxury hobby. If you don’t have the luxury or patience I think you should get out of the hobby.”
I guess by the definition given by the OP I am also an elitist. My dolls have to have clean and brushed wigs and if not it drives me crazy, they can’t have terrible or god awful clothing, and face ups? I accept nothing less then beautiful and the best. I mean seriously, I’m picky with those. And are there dolls I think are atrocious? Yep. But it’s not only cheaper dolls. I’ve seen dolls that are $800+ that look absolutely horrible that are offered by some companies. But I’m pretty sure my girls are also atrocious by someones standards.
But that last line, that very last line I cannot agree with, at all. Who are you to tell someone to leave the hobby because of the way they do things within the hobby? If a persons doll has a crap wig, ugly clothes, a horrible face up ok, it may make you cringe, but that’s no reason for you to think they should get out of the hobby because you think they don’t have patience! This may sound like a five year old speaking instead of a nineteen year old, but that’s really mean!
Patience is a virtue yes but it’s not something everyone has. Some people simply can’t save up and there’s really nothing wrong with that, others people can’t afford to save up and there’s really nothing wrong with that either, and then there are those who just won’t save up and don’t want to which is fine. But it’s wrong to just…I don’t want to say judge exactly, but I feel its wrong to say something like that.
[Mod note: I’m assuming that last line shouldn’t read “If you don’t have the luxury or the patience-” but I don’t want to go correcting things unless they’re glaring typos just in case that’s actually what was meant… should it be ‘the time’? ‘the money’? I don’t know.]
